Joanne Arnett Tutschek Fund
Joanne Arnett Tutschek, a cancer survivor for many years, gave generously of her time and resources for the battle against breast cancer. Joanne was traveling on business in 1998 when she noticed a slight indentation of her left nipple. A screening mammogram proved negative, so she continued traveling. However, a few months later, at her annual checkup, Joanne's doctor immediately sent her for follow-up. She was diagnosed with lobular carcinoma (often not visible on film) and had 58 cancerous lymph nodes.
Joanne was stunned! "I thought my life was over." After treatment, she lived another nine years to enjoy a new daughter-in-law, a new granddaughter, a grandson, two graduations, and a new retirement home in St. Augustine.
The Joanne Arnett Tutschek Fund was established by her loving family and loyal friends through Flagler Health Care Foundation. The fund provides grants for important breast cancer diagnostic programs at Flagler Hospital.
