SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla - April 28, 2006

Flagler Hospital was named the “Best Place to Work in Northeast Florida” by The Business Journal of Jacksonville during a luncheon at the Omni Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida on April 28, 2006. Flagler Hospital placed first in the large company category, which included 5 finalists with 250 employees or more.

“Creating a great environment for our employees has been a focused effort for the past few years,” said Joe Gordy, President of Flagler Hospital. “Our employees have created a family-like culture of mutual caring and support. That culture is key in providing excellent patient care, and it also allows us to attract and retain the very best team members.”

This award began as over 185 companies across Northeast Florida were nominated to participate in the contest. The employees of nominated companies were then invited to complete an online survey consisting of about 50 questions designed to evaluate employee satisfaction in their workplace. The survey was conducted by Quantum Market Research Inc., an independent research company who also provided an unbiased analysis of the survey results. Based on these findings, The Business Journal recognized finalist in each of three categories based on company size.

Flagler Hospital is a 316 bed acute care hospital serving St. Augustine and surrounding Florida communities. Flagler Hospital is recognized nationally for overall clinical excellence, and offers specialty services in the Heart Center, the Oncology Center, the Spine Program and The Imaging Center. In August 2005 Flagler Hospital opened facilities in Palm Coast, and will be opening a medical complex in northern St. Johns County in 2007.
